The Town of Vermont is governed by a 5-member Board of Supervisors and a 7-member Plan Commission. The Clerk, Treasurer and Plan Commission Secretary are appointed.

The Plan Commission maintains a comprehensive Land Use Plan and provides reports and recommendations to the Town Board related to planning and development.
